FAQ’s

WHY STAINLESS STEEL?
There’s a ton of technical support for why stainless steel water bottles are better than plastic and aluminium, but we prefer to keep it simple. All Mizu water bottles are made of 18/8 food-grade stainless steel, which is the same quality steel that is used for cooking. What does that mean exactly? For one, it doesn’t need a liner. Secondly, it doesn’t have a weird taste or retain the flavor of the last thing you put in it. And finally, it’s recyclable and 100% chemical/BPA free. Yep…you’re reading this right. It’s the best material there is.

WHY CHOOSE MIZU?
There are a lot of stainless steel water bottles out there today, but when it comes to the products you’re rockin’, you’re probably a lot like us: you skate, you surf, you snowboard, and love to hang with others who do the same. Mizu is proud of our community and strives to have our owner’s vision and advocate opinions seen in every product we make. Plus our bottles are 18/8 food-grade quality stainless steel and are 100% chemical free.

CLEANING MY MIZU
Sounds kind of funny when you say it out loud doesn’t it? But cleaning your Mizu bottle is a lot easier than saying “cleaning my Mizu” ten times fast. For daily cleaning you should just rinse in warm soapy water and let it air dry upside down so it can drain. For more thorough washings we recommend a warm, soapy water washing with a brush.

We do not recommend that any of our painted bottles go in the dishwasher, but if you must, do not dry with heat. Intense dishwasher heat may cause chipping of the paint over time.

WHERE CAN I FILL UP MY MIZU BOTTLE?
Don’t tell us you’ve been brainwashed by the water companies! But if you’re someone who isn’t thinking bigger when you get your first bottle we’ve put together a few ideas to help you go beyond the filtered option in your fridge.

  • Coffee shops: Most coffee shops are using filtered water to make over priced brew. Bring your bottle in, smile and say…”can you fill this with water please?”
  • The hose in your yard: You’re a bad ass so go old school and fill ‘er up!
  • Water fountains: They’re at the mall, at your school, in the airport and almost everywhere in between. Most of them have a filtration system in place so find your zones and plan accordingly.
  • Restaurants: Next time you stop in for a bite, ask them to fill the bottle before you leave. You’ll feel cool and probably set an example for those sitting near you.
  • Soda machines: Yep…the same one that gets you all jacked up on carbonated beverages dispenses water too. So why don’t you pass on the sugar-stuff for a change and push that little white water button to fill your Mizu bottle instead!
  • At home: Tap water is everywhere! Most of our Mizu Advocates rotate between a couple bottles and always keep one filled in their fridge. Who knows, maybe this system will work for you too?

CAN I PUT MY BOTTLE IN THE FREEZER?
The short answer is no. The long answer is also no. Because our water bottles are made of stainless steel and water expands when it freezes, you’re creating a situation where something’s got to give. That “something” is usually the cap. So if you want to keep from having an ice rink in your freezer, avoid it altogether.

REPLACEMENT PARTS:
We lose stuff too. And yes it bums us out. But we replace it and move on, which is exactly what you should do. Mizu offers a full range of replacement parts available in our store or at one of our stores near you. For a complete dealer list, go here.

THE “MIZU FOR LIFE” WARRANTY:
We believe in every product we make and right from the start decided to stand behind them in every way possible. What does this mean? Simple. The “Mizu for Life” warranty is a commitment to your bottle purchase and guarantees that your bottle will hold water. If your bottle will no longer hold water, send it back to us with a description of what the heck happened and BOOM! We’ll send you a replacement.

DENTS AND SCRATCHES:
Under normal usage Mizu bottles will stand the test of time. But if you’re like us and you go big once in a while, dents and scratches happen. Although our warranty does not cover this type of abuse, we encourage you to use our Mizu products daily and from time to time, mess them up. Dents are like scars, so go ahead, be gnarly! And wear those scars proudly.

RETURNS
We can’t think of a witty way to give you our address, so just send your returns to the address below and be sure to tell us who you are, why you are returning the product and if we need to send you a replacement, where to send it. You knew that though, didn’t you?
